In 1979, a small stall in Chinatown serving Cantonese chicken rice was established by Mr Thian Boon Hua. His silky white sauce chicken rice and quality customer service soon garnered him popularity and in 1983, Boon Tong Kee’s first restaurant was born. Not long after the exposure from rave reviews both from customers and luminaries alike, more outlets opened all over the country. Today, Boon Tong Kee also serves delectable and flavourful “Zi Char”, otherwise known as home-style cooked food, exciting the taste buds of Singaporeans and tourists.
